For the Stratum Builders team, this project represented far more than a commercial buildout. It was an opportunity to help create a destination that feels welcoming from the moment you step inside. Located in the heart of Glencoe, Ford General blends modern retail with a warm, residential feel. Rather than following trends, the design focuses on creating a timeless space where customers can browse comfortably and feel encouraged to slow down and stay awhile. Thoughtfully selected materials, custom millwork, layered lighting, and carefully considered finishes all work together to create more than a retail store. They create a place that feels familiar, comfortable, and connected to the neighborhood around it.

Today, the idea of a third space, a place outside of home and work where people can gather, relax, and build community, is more important than ever. Ford General was designed with that spirit in mind.
